Family Magic Tour Clues

Disney’s Family Magic Tour invites Guests to join their family and friends on a guided interactive quest to save the Magic Kingdom from the dastardly plans of a Disney Villain.

Your tour guide needs your help as your tour group searches high and low for clues in this adventure through Magic Kingdom theme park. Unlike most tours, your party will play an active role in the experience as you put on your detective hat, follow tricky clues, solve diabolical puzzles and engage in a lively scavenger hunt.

*Disney’s tour schedules and content can change at any time due to a variety of factors. Rest assured, if for some reason the tour can’t or doesn’t go to one of the stops you’ve read about here or on other websites, your Tour Guide still has plenty of magic up their sleeves to make sure you have a wonderful tour experience.

Maximum Group Size: 20

Listening Devices Available: No

Hearing Disabilities: Yes

Wheelchair Accessible: Yes

Requirements: All ages are welcomed on the tour, but it would be best appreciated by young children who believe in pixie Mickey dust.  For the grown-ups in the group, prepared to be silly or risk ruining the magic for everyone else participating.  The more you’re into it, the more everyone gets out of the experience.

Photography Restrictions: This tour is completely onstage, so photography is permitted throughout the tour.  You will want to make sure you have a camera handy for the end of the tour.

Bag Storage: Guests carry their baggage with them.  If you don’t want to hold your bag throughout a 1.5-2 hour walking tour, consider getting a locker at the front of the park.  Remember, your tour ends at by Pirates of the Caribbean.

Additional Notes: This is an outdoor walking tour with little time in the shade – dress appropriately, wear suncreen & good shoes. Disney will not cancel or provide refunds for this tour (or most others) in the event of inclement weather (Disney will cancel for hurricanes, but not average rain).

Other Tour Reviews & Links

If you are considering going on this tour, think twice before reading reviews.  This tour is pretty standard, and your experience will likely be very close, if not identical, to the reviews below.  The emphasis of the Family Magic Tour is the magic.  Reading these reviews may very well ruin the magic with details about the tour that are designed to be unveiled, not leaked.

  • Step by Step Family Magic Tour Review by Laura from January 2008.  Do NOT read this one if you want to go on the tour.  This is the tour in full detail with lots of photo and videos.  Note: A special viewing of Mickey’s PhilharMagic is not a standard tour offering.
  • AllEars.net Review by Sarah P. from April 2003.  While this review is from a few years back, the tour hasn’t changed based on our experience in May 2011.   Contains spoilers.

  • DIS Unplugged Podcast Review by Bob “Bawb” Varley from March 2007.  Bob took one for the team and went on the Family Magic Tour by himself – resulting in a hilarious tale a grown man “crawling” through Cosmic Ray’s and pretending to be an airplane.  I do not have a direct link for this show, but you can listen by clicking on the Listen Now button and navigating to the 03/20/07 show.  Discussion of the Family Magic Tour starts at 24:41.
